((OOC: Thanks Fladnag, and YES -- the boy shouldn't be the center of attention. I didn't know where I was going either, but now I do. *growls at Andrea* A Shame to Lizards! And NO MORE power playing!
If it continues, You shall see the wrath of a middle-aged, 5'1" exiled guard!!
That is all. Thank you, and have a nice day))

(OOC) What power playing!!!!! I'm not doing anything! At least, not since my second post! And anyway, the getting brighter outside was probably the fire spell Roonan threw! And yeah, what's the big deal with Frodo's guy anyway? He was only the begining character, I think it's the harp. Even if I didn't say anything the mystery of the harp, and there still is one, would keep him the central character. The character I'm playing with might to powerful a player for this game. I might need to switch characters, tell me if I should. Just to keep people from yelling at me I will stay out of this board all day tomorrow. If anyone interacts with my character while I'm not on feel free to make her ditzy and careless, after all she hasn't had ANY sleep for four days straight. Do anything you want to her, try to kill her, whatever. By the way, if she needs to tell her name to anyone, her name is Jainis, the wizard.

OOC: i haven't been on for a few days so here is something)
Keeper woke, yesterday had been a very busy day, and very tiresome. How she was supposed to help the boy she did not know but she knew she had to help him. She dressed and climbed down the stairs from the roof, washed her face in the nearby stream and looked at the day. Looking out into the morning fog she saw a green light..."Moriwen is here, I have less time then I thought." Then she heard a low whisper, "Keeper I have come for you." Timidly she approached Moriwen, her eyes searching in the mist to find her, Her eyes at last rested upon Moriwen, a tall woman-child with long red hair and a staff that shone like the sun. Keeper heard Moriwen pause, Keeper still couldn't see her clearly. then Moriwen said, "Time is of the essence. Speed your hunt, or I will for you. He is mine if you have not retained him by the next full moon." suddenly Moriwen colapesed Keeper ran inside what happened she didn't know All she knew so far about the boy was that . A. Roonan wanted him B. Moriwen wanted him or something she didn't know exactly what Moriwen wanted C. he had a magic harp D. Jainis wanted him or at least knew what or who he was.
(Jainis is the girl with the flute Keeper just learned that from a scullery maid)
She went up to the roof to collect her things, today she had to really be invisible not just a partial invisibility spell like normal this had to be a spell so strong that even if she was a few inches away from the boys face he still couldn't see her. She also did not want anyone to wonder why she had "funny" ears that's usually where she used the invisibility spells anyway. So that was why she had to find Luter...

(OOC) I don't want the stupid brat!
Moriwen awoke lying sprawled across the ground. What had happened. Nothing she could remember. All that was left of that memory was a light, the bright light of a spell. Keeper! she thought. I had no intention of frightening her! She had to find her before time was too late.

He slept uneasily. The dream kept coming back to him, the dream that had haunted him for months. He writhed in his sleep, crying out.
"Xellas!" she was sobbing, her body mangled. "Xellas, Xellas...." The guards had stripped her, and gouged her back with shards of glass. Now she lay, grotesqely inhuman, her eye sockets empty, blood running down her face, the face that he had cradled in his hands so many times before. Her body feebly shuddered, in agony. Her hands, bloody hands, clawed at his boots. "Marlei." His lips formed her name; no sound was heard. He could do nothing. "Xellas," she rasped. She was dying. Dying! Another guard stepped out from behind the tree, and buried his sword in her back. She gasped, and lay still. The guard turned on him, yanking his sword from the girl. He turned the stained tip to Xellas' face. The boy was frozen to the spot, and could do nothing. Someone behind him pinned his arms, freezing him further, while the guard drew the blade along his throat, from the bottom of his left ear, to the nape of his neck; the cut was shallow, but would leave a mark. He whimpered, his eyes filling with tears. He knew better than to say anything.

Jainis watched the boy as he dreamed, she could tell he was having a nightmare. It reminded her of the nightmare she had almost every night, the one of watching Tal, her cousin, get shot through the heart by an arrow as the group of Robbers they were raised by was lined up in a town square and put to death, and then get shot herself. The look of defiance in their eyes was chilling, and then seeing the blood pour forth from his body, the same red color as his hair and hers, as he collapsed and gasped for his last breath, squirming. She had been 6 when that had happened, he had been 8. She shivered and looked away. She and Tal had died that day, along with all of her family and friends. But now they lived. Master Ciern had taken her and Tal's bodies from the pile of corpses before it was burned and had replaced their hearts with enchanted amulets that kept their bodies alive and had caught their spirits just before they had dissapeared into, where ever they go. She picked up the book beside her and opened to the front page. She pulled a quill and inkwell out of her pocket and began to write a letter to Tal.

The tree opened up, just like it was a poachers bag straight down the middle, out stepped a wizened old man, he was as tall as Keepers waist and had a beird that twisted all the way around his neck like a coller and went down to the ground. "Ello Keep whatcha be needin frim ild luter tiday?" OOC(this just how he talks it is not my poor spelling skills) Keeper knelt down, so that she was the same height as the man," you know what i have come for." the old man smiled ,"Yes yer father book, right weel i be havin' it, me bein' a mystic fairey i was keepin' it fer me own uses. but me tinks this has a sometin to do with the boy huh? me gurl does it now?" "Yes Lutur it does." Keeper replied with a smile. "Thank you so much. you truely are a blessing." "weel as an ild friend ta the fimily i had ta be a doin' it, now i got ta be fixin a fight between the badgers and the hedgehogs of the forest so i best be off. laters, keep." with that he scrambled back inside the tree and it closed behind him.

(continued)
The guards let him go, their laughter dry. He fell to his knees, ignoring the pain. He'd wanted to stay alive, so he could help his mother and father escape, but it was then that he learned that they had been burned alive in the clay hut. Xellas pulled himself forward, to Marlei's corpse. Her dark hair overshadowed her face, but he could see her mouth was open, open in a silent scream.
How many summers had they worked in the fields together? How many times had they gotten in trouble for fooling around at the Blacksmithy, where he worked as an apprentice? He couldn't remember. With a calloused finger, he traced her jaw line. She used to be so pretty before the city was taken over. But then, her eyes grew dark, her face gaunt. Food was scarce.
In some way, Xellas was glad. She would not have to endure the world of torment no longer. Still, he buried his face in her tattered apron, and beat the earth with a grimy fist. Her last moments - the agony! He wanted to help, he didn't want to watch them do the horrible things to her, but he was forced. Forced to stay alive. Forced to bear witness. "Marlei," he whispered, "shall be avenged."
And then he heard a sound in the forest. The click of metal. The tread of a boot.
Xellas scrabbled to his feet, and ran, swaying, to get out. To escape.
Xellas woke, already sitting up, sweat pouring down his brow. The light in the room told him dawn had already broken. He pushed his hair out of his eyes, and traced the scar along his neck, without realizing he was doing so. It bothered him that he couldn't remember where he had seen the girl with the red hair.
It also bothered him that she'd left the room.

Light streamed in from the window as she finished her letter. She signed it, it had grown from her first few words into a 5 page long epistle. "Send," she said in the language of magic, then blew on the first page. The words she had written dissapeared.

She closed the book and let go of it. It floated up to her eye level and she stood up. She felt hungry. She unstrapped the sword from her waist and lay it next to the lad. "Gaurd him," she ordered it. "What about you?" it hummed back. "You can gaurd both of us, but I think he needs you more than me right now." It hummed a low note of affection and agreement. Jainis walked out of the room and headed down to the bar to get something to eat. After she ate she headed out a short distance into the forest to get a branch of yew, but she left the book at the bar, in case the lad awoke while she was gone.
