Join as you will, but please get in on this thread quickly. You may find it difficult to catch up later on.
I will try to make it a weekly goal to pose a new question/scenario for you to respond to, either on Friday or Saturday. (If that is too long of a wait, then I might step it up a bit to twice a week - But for now thats the gang plan) You CAN do multiple characters, but please keep it to a maximum of three, because, any more than that, and it might turn into something chaotic for yourself and others. If you do not agree, then please discuss this with me privately.
Your first assignment is to tell us your character's name, why you chose it, and if it has a specific meaning to it, then please do elaborate.

Can we use a pre-existing character?

Um, yes. I forgot to bring up that point in my lovely little beginning speech.
Start with a fresh page and create a character as we go along or use a 'pre-existing' character that you're having problems with, or that you just want to see how well they can stand up to my feeble attempt at this thread . . . I dunno, I don't care. Just SOMEBODY get started on this! Or else I'll do this entire tthread for myself and that won't be much fun . . .

*deep breath* He doesn't have a name yet. He should by the end of the week, but, as of yet, no name.

My character's full name is Rupert Sidney Smithen
but he just likes to be called Smith. I have NO idea why he likes that name, but he does. *shrug* I haven't even bothered to look up the meaning of it.

Sorry, that was rude of me, but it WAS humurous in some weird way - no, Jo, not laughing at you, its a good name, I'm just in a weird mood.

Anyvay, back on track - I just found the name book, so I'm looking up Smith's name.
Rupert is the German version of Robert and means "Shining Fame". (Oh, man . . . wish you could see the look on his face - ! Now don't get cocky on me smith, it'll be hard to get a love interest going if you're full of yourself . . .)
Sidney is yes, a boy's name and its Hebrew. It means - (Oh stop laughing!) - to "entice" or "to lure". I'm thinking NO love interest what-so-ever if he's going to be that way, famous and, um, scary.
Smithen/ Smith wasn't found, but its a last name, so it doesn't really matter.

"Brendan" is a variation of Brandon, or Brendyn. It means "raven". It caught my fancy and fit the character, so I picked it. "Dunbar" is something to do with dark or quiet, I don't remember which. I ought to look it up again but haven't gotten around to it.
He's not melodramatic or anything, he's just quiet, and his humour is, well...anyhow...

Looks like its just me and Jo here and I'm getting bored waiting for people. Oh sure - just when I finally get a schedule down and work out the time to be online, no one is ever on . . . *sigh*
I'm going to make a complaint thread in the General section so I don't annoy anybody unneccessarily.
Next assignment: Describe Character's physical features and clothing.

I'm in! I'll do Bartholemew, aka- Ricochet, Ricky for short. He is named Bartholemew because the people who named him wanted to become great. He is called Ricochet by everyone because if he knocks something over, or messes up in any way, it usually has disaterous effects. (Example, knocks an egg off a table- somehow the egg ends up across town and slips somebody up, usually it's more elaborate and complicated.)
Description: He's tall, about 6' 3', about 16 years old, brown-black hair with green eyes. He's not very muscular, as he just finished a growth spurt. Whether or not he is an elf or a human is yet to be decided, I'm leaning towards elf though... He prefers to wear pants and a loose short-sleeved shirt. Anything else I need to add to that description?

Hmm. Not that I can tell. It's more detailed than the one I'm about to give. I think.
Brendan is mid-complected with hazel eyes, dark hair, tallish, clear-skinned. But he's not really all that good looking, despite the way it sounds. Build is...hard to explain. I won't try. I'm lazy like that.

I changed his hair-color, for some reason I can't see him with anything but black hair, and he was strongly resisting turning blonde.
