Alright. Your character is taking a walk one afternoon after school/work/whatever. They see someone's wallet in the street. What is their first reaction?

Brendan's first reaction would be- "Who's is this?" muttered to himself. Second reaction- "Okaaaay...where do I put this so they find it?" Third reaction- "Taken care of." Fourth reaction (much later, most likely at some random moment)- "What if they don't check there?!"
On a particularly bad day, he may not notcie the wallet to begin with, or may simply just walk past it.
If the wallet belongs to a friend, he'll return it to them, then the second reaction is- "Did I pay him back last time I borrowed change for lunch?" (most likely he did)

Brendan's friend in the last portion of the story I sent you, Maddie, would most likely say "finders keepers". He's tried to teach Brendan this policy, but Brendan's only adopted it when encountering lost pencils or erasers so far. I hope this doesn't change when he gets older, but if his buddy has his way, it may eventually rub off.

Ricky's reaction would be to pick it up, look inside, and drop it, most likely causing a chain reaction.
Vito's reaction would be to pick it up, look at the ID inside, and send it to the person with a chastising note via snail-mail.

Smithen would stare at it for a moment, look around and pick it up. He might count the money inside, look over the cards, and in general try to learn as much as possible about the person, in case he needs info for a future reference. Then he'd be so busy reading the ID that he'd run into a telephone pole, curse loudly, and THEN take it to his office at the police station and contact the person in a horrifically grumpy mood.

Well, this is a little on the pathetic side, but here you go:
