OOC (obviously): Okee dokee. And Maddie, R-play...? needs an update. I'd provide one, but I'd need someone else to help, because of the no power play thing and conversations being difficult things to hold one side-edly for long...
Vampires...hmm....maybe we should set up basics first. As in, what time period? Location? Any specific rules/traditions that ought to be set up ahead of time (ie. vampire holidays or rituals or something)? Exactly how old are they going to be- I know they're long lived, but HOW long lived are we going to make them (this will affect the character's outlook)? Any other miscellaneous items that ought to be decided on?
I don't mean to nitpick guys, but after the SKL fiasco, I think we ought to decide some things before we jump in head first. So, can we please answer those questions before actually writing in character?

Oh . . . I usually just make stuff up. If you guys want to go by how I've been playing it, then okee-day.
Ty - does charrie mean character description? if so, just post! Just remember all (or most) physical attributes, clothing, and perhaps some special powers.
Jo: "Vampires...hmm....maybe we should set up basics first. As in, what time period? Location? Any specific rules/traditions that ought to be set up ahead of time (ie. vampire holidays or rituals or something)? Time period? How 'bout modern? perhaps future? Location . . . . hmmm. I'm rather privy to england . . . Rituals? Make 'em up as you go. I've always seen that Vampires were shape changers (and my character unusually so), aren't too fond of direct sunlight (but can handle it), Don't like garlic (but won't kill 'em), and are totally anti-wooden stake to the heart. Immediate second-death, you see. Um . . . oldness? My guy looks like he's 17, but he's actually 200-something. He's been around for a long time. Miscellaneous: the roleplay shouldn't be ALL vampires. Maybe it'd be interesting if there were one or two mortals. Just to add tension, you know.
ah . . . my guy, for the reason he has lived for so long, only takes human blood, like, every 70 or so years. He's got to stay inconspicious, you know? So, yeah. I don't know why I'm telling you this. Shhhhh! Secrets!
I'll go check out the website you found Ty, and see if anything matches up.
But do my dinky ideas work?

Here's something interesting, but I don't agree with everything:
"Vampires never die by old age they go on forever looking the same as they did when they were bitten, yet ten times better.
They have heightened senses and are extreame hunters.
If a vampire that steps or touches sun light, they will die. They will die in a burning pain as well.
Vampires can be killed, though if you're an Elder then not much can touch you or harm you. Fledglings are always "backed" by their elders even if the elder isn't in sight they are always watching their victums.
Vampires looks have unnatrual beauty. Yet they all have a few things in common:
1. Eyes will change colors depending on their mood... and they always seem to have glossy apperance to them. Another time that the eyes will change is when feeding they go into a deep, deep crimson.
2. The vampire fangs or canines can be dretractable. They will move out of the gums and be sharper and stronger then japaness steal.
3. Everyone of them has heightened senses... all of them stronger then a humans. "

Here's more:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Feeding
1. Vampires can only drink blood. Their organs are dead they can't digest and the food or drink that they ate/drank rots in their stomach... and well they die from food poisioning.
2. Drugs cannot be passed into their blood it kills them, it's like food/drink. Though I think that they can take a little bit of water into their system.
3. When taking blood from a human they CANNOT take the last drop. When the last drop goes so does the vampire. Why? Because, they last drop is the humans spirit if you take that hell has an offer for you.
4. You can have the choice taking the innocent or the unpure. If you take a human's life in the right your allowed after you die to enter heaven. If you take a human's life in the wrong your going straight to hell.
5. After a vampire feeds, they become "rejuvinated" after all the blood that is lost it's better if you take a human's life every three to four days.
6. If a vampire doesn't feed they go into a savage and very, very scary form. Blood lusted and thier eyes black with the fury. Bones sticking out every where... yeah it is not pretty... so maybe you should have your vampire feed before a week is over.
Other info.
1. Blood is like a vampires water. They don't use the bathroom ((Dances)), if and when they puke, cry, or sweat... it is all blood and yet vampires don't sweat that much so that's not a problem.
2. Vampires are usually not from birth... they are usually changed or turned. Though the vampires that are born and it MUST be between vampires... they just don't have to go through the painful experince of being turned.
3. Dhamphires happen when a mother human is bitten by a vampire. It is really, really rare that a dhamphire will appear on the Earth, why? Because vampires usually kill their victums... though in the rare case that they want to make the mother a vampire and the young one a dhamphire.
Dhamphires, depending on what genes they take, are a mixture of human and vampire. If they get more vampiric genes then they can only come out at night, lay dead in the day, and act like normal vampires BUT they are weaker then vampires... as always fledglings are the weakest out of the vampiric stature. If a dhamphire has the human genes then they act as normal humans but have a taste for blood. The dhamphire's are stronger then humans but weaker then vampires...
((I think I got all that right. This information was received from the book: Theif of Lives by Barb & J. C. Hendee.))

I don't know about the whole freakish sunlight thing . . . I think they should be able to go out in the sun. it's just tingly and slightly painful. And feeding on human blood every couple days? eeps! Scary! Vidar, my character, drinks animal blood like maybe once a month. He can handle very very small amounts of food and water. And I already said he doesn't take human blood too often. He only took a life once, and swore to never do it again.
OPINIONS - ? am I throwing too much at you?

ummmmmm first of all vampires HAVE to have SOME sort of blood at least once a week! ok 2nd...vampires cant drink eaverylast drop of a human..it means taht there would be nothing for satan, so the vampire would owe its "life" to satan...3rd...usually some people would eb mortals and then the vampires would sire(turn them into aa vampire) the mortals or kill them...in which case taht charrie (character) is dead and needs to be made into a differnt ccharrie..................but pretty much its all good idont know...where do we post our charie descrpiton?

OOC: No, it's not too much. Ty, I visited the site and I think I'm sticking to what Madzid is saying about the sunlight and the blood thing.
Oh, something I learned a couple days before I realized you had even started a vampire RP here. The origins of the vampiric legends have to do with rabies. We're doing a unit on viruses in biology and somehow it came up. The rabies virus targets the brain, so people don't act altogether like they might normally, and way back when I suppose the other peoplethought they had become something other than human. Afflicted people generally tend to be violent and both humans and animals will snap at things that aren't there. Because of the way the brain is afflicted, rabies victims don't like going into the light, so if they did go outdoors during their sickness they'd do so at night. Rabies won't always kill a person right away I guess (it was somewhat unclear, although I do remember reading in Julie of the Wolves that one of the animals went for about four months before anything really went wrong), and depending on a whole lot of factors, the animal/person won't be hit with symptoms for a couple weeks to a couple months. Once it sets in though, he/she/it is down for the very painful count.

That's definently interesting Jo.
And Ty, Vidar (My person) does drink blood, just not as much as once a week, and it usually some small straying animal. TY JUST PUT YOUR DESCRIPTION HERE, GOOFBALL! I'll get around to mine eventually.
Well, do we agree on whats been said? Or - ooh - idea! What if there were different KINDS of vampires? What if we just made our character how we wanted to be?

lets just make it how we want.... heres my charrie....
± Character Name| Nataliya Bureno ± Nickname| Liya ± Age| 22 ± Gender Female ± Family| mom-dead, sister- dead, dad- Drake 45years old (wish he was dead) ± Species|human ± Sexuality| bisexual ± Animal Form| n/a
±Physical Description| Nataliya is 5'9 and has an average figure. She has beautiful blue eyes and dark tanned skin. Her hair is lower back length, straight, usually knotted, dark brown hair.
She wears long black boots that make her 5' 11'' tall. She prefers to wear short skirts and tight pants, but occasionally you'll see her in long dresses or long flowing skirts. She wears mostly dark color
± Personality| She’s a girl who you don’t want to mess with. She’s really nice if you are nice to her. She loves music she plays the guitar in her heavy metal band. She loves it. She sings too. She writes great poetry. She is very shy when not in the limelight on her stage in front of her fans. She’s very shy and doesn’t talk very much. Once she gets to know you she can be real stubborn. She is firm on her Christian belief and the fact that there is no such thing as magic or mystical creatures such as vampires. She has never had much luck in the category of love probably because she’s so shy! She loves incense and candles.
± History| She spent the first twenty two years of her life living a quiet simple life. She's been home schooled by her dad, who was a drug dealer, though not a drugee. She lost her mom at the age of eight, and sister ran away when Nataliya was fourteen. Her dad didn’t make enough money, so she had to work as a stripper for three years. She has just recently started a heavy metal rock band and is striving to make a living. She's had only three real relationships in her life, none of them lasting long. She has one good friend who has stuck with her and is in her band. Her friend, Anna is trying to get her to settle down, but Nataliya is too used to being used- from her stripper days. She always dreamed of being an actress. But with her low finances she never got a chance to go to college to learn to act. So, she is stuck playing a stupid guitar and trying to make money even though it's not what she wants to do. She doesn't see any hope of being an actress or going anywhere expect heavy metal country. Though everyone tells her she's great she knows it isn't true
± Rp Example| Nataliya woke up at 11pm, she’d slept in from her band practice the night before. She stretched and got off the couch in her small but comfy room. Slowly, walked into her kitchen where she smelled leftover takeout in the microwave. She saw her dad had been nice and made her coffee and breakfast. She took a coffee mug out of the cupboard and noticed a note on her usual cup. It told her how her dad had left for work early and wouldn’t be back until late. She had become accustomed to these kind of notes as she got them almost everyday. The few days she didn’t get one were the days when she found her dad laying on the couch with some random woman who he had gotten drunk with the night before. After she had finished her two cups of coffee and wong tong, she went straight to working on her bands new lyrics. She had been working so long on this one song, she was ready to just pitch it. Her band wouldn’t let her though, they said it was too good to just drop. Because of this, she continued slaving over her song, which didn’t seem to be fitting together very easily. Finally, she got it to where she thought the band could play it, and headed down to the library where she could type it up and send it to everybody. Once at the library, she typed up the lyrics and emailed her band the lyrics. Signing onto AIM, she checked to see if anyone was on so she could find out when practice was. “d**n it!” she said, so loud the librarian yelled at her for it. ‘Nobody’s on,’ she thought to herself, ‘maybe I’ll ask the librarian to use her cell phone to call them.’

OOC: Sorry about the ramble earlier. It just reminded me. Ty- interesting character.
For some reason, during English class (we were covering a portion of grammar that I swear we had already covered first nine weeks- so, as Minda said, did they really expect us to hear or read one word of it?) things kept popping into my head, so I wrote them down. I'm not saying we have to use what I'm about to type, but I think it might establish a sort of basis for some things so that we had some sort of grounding in this area.
Things that came up while not listening in English:
It takes three hours for a vampire to drain a human of all but 1/2 a pint of blood. (This does not come from anything I've heard about how long it takes to bleed dry- I don't really know how long that would take, but I thought, okay. After losing a certain amount of blood, a person will pass out. After losing a small certain amount more, they die of blood loss, even though their body still contains quite a bit of the fluid. So, regardless of when they pass or die, and assuming they've got the amount of blood that's natural, how long could it plausibly take?)
The aforementioned time period does not apply to novice feeders. If the vampire is fairly young/inexperienced, it could take much longer, or they could end up severing the vein they're trying to drink. Depending on how often the vampire feeds off humans and the vampire's personality, it could take them up to five feedings before they can do so without awkwardness. This means that if the vampire only feeds on human blood once a century, they're naturally going to have more trouble with it than those who've been feeding off humans once a week for a long time (something that's probably not a good thing, one because I'm guessing that they can gorge themselves to the point where they have too much blood in their system since it doesn't go through quite the way it would in humans and two because people will inevitably notice). I'd also guess that inexperience would cause some fatalities amongst vampires as well as humans, like I dunno, two out of every five younger or less experience vampires, because if we're going with what that site said about the last drop of blood, if they're new to feeding they wouldn't necessarily now when to stop or they forget that they don't have to necessarily kill the human they happen to be drinking from, they just have to take enough blood to sustain themselves until the next meal- animal or human- comes along.
Like I said we don't have to use this, I was just trying to think about things that would be a matter of course for them. And also, some of it might figure into plot (ie. one of the vampires that for some reason insists on draining its meal is still in the however long process of draining the person when someone else walks in). Just things that might be the same from vampire to vampire, despite the different kinds of vampires that Madzid suggested. Because no matter how different the vampire "races" get, they've still got to be vampires. Anyvays, what do you say? Should we make up something different, should we use this, or was I stupid to think about it at all?

No, its a good idea. You're just really really practical. *chuckles* But it makes sense: Vidar is awkward like that. Good idea. Have you got a character yet, Jo?
Ty - is your character a mortal then? I'm fused. Oh, and no more cussing. I don't care if it fits with your character. If she is supposedly strong in her Christian beliefs, she would not have stooped to the stripper level, and she would not be throwing obsceneties around. Please don't let it happen again.

And Ty - you said "Sexuality: Bisexual". If she's a lesbian . . . I'm not gonna be happy.
